Background

In a healthcare setting, managing access to applications and information for different roles (e.g., nurses, physicians, UCA, PCA) was complex due to varying requirements. The manual process lacked efficiency, and role-based access control was needed to ensure users access only relevant tools and data. A solution was delivered to streamline access management, enhance security, and improve productivity.

Problem Statement

•Role-Based Access: Different roles required access to specific applications and information.
•Shared vs. Personalized Devices: It was hard to Manage access on shared devices for staff and personalized devices for physicians/clinicians.
•Dynamic Access: There was difficulty to Assign specific applications to each profile (e.g. EPIC, QGenda, SPOK paging etc.).

Solution

Profile Manager:

Developed a system to define and manage role-based profiles.

Role-Based Access Control:

Assigned applications and permissions based on user roles.

Dynamic Access:

Upon login, users could now access applications and information relevant to their role.
